About Onida Electronics Ltd

MIRC Electronics Ltd has been one of the leaders in India's consumer electronics market since it was incorporated in 1981 as a private limited company. After transforming to a public limited company in 1992, MIRC has been manufacturing Onida brand of colour televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, TV components, spares, electronics tuners, and more. The company has also set up Onida Arcades retail stores around the country. It was awarded the ISO 9001 certification in 1995. In recent years, they have launched the WEBCRUISER internet TV, Techno Value range of products, the 29KY Thunder series, and the 29-inch home theatre that can convert mono recordings into 5.1 surround sounds. To stay focused on their core business segment, MIRC has divested some of their non-core businesses including their Onida Infotech division. It has also increased their television production capacity from 1.8 million units per annum to 3 million units annually. In the past few years, it has launched the Oxygen Series and Poison range of colour televisions and microwave ovens.
