About Apex Frozen Foods Ltd

Apex Frozen Foods Limited is an Indian integrated producer and exporter of processed ready-to-cook shrimp. Its value chain includes Hatchery Farming Processing and Exporting of Shrimp with a 15,240 MTPA of processing capacity and 1,800 acres of farm land with breeding capacity of over 1bn Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) seeds. The company produces variants of processed Whiteleg shrimp (L.Vannamei) and small quantities of Black Tiger shrimp (P. Monodon). Apex supplies its ready-to-cook products to customers spread across the USA, UK and Europe. The company is promoted by Karuturi Satyanarayana Murthy and Karuturi Subrahmanya Chowdary, who have been associated with aquaculture business in Andhra Pradesh for over two decades. In 2017, Apex issued an initial public offer to the general public, with a combination of fresh issue of 72.5 lakh shares and offer for sale of 14.5 lakh shares by promoter shareholders. There have been several awards and accreditations for Apex since its formation, including certificates of Global Standard for Food Safety and Best Aquaculture Practices, approval from Export Inspection Counsel of India and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification. Apex Frozen Foods Limited has been in business since 1995 which is now a Public Limited Company and it has a cold storage of 1500 MT of finished goods. Except for the recent search/survey conducted by the Income Tax Department, Apex has not experienced any significant impact on their business.
