About Uma Exports Ltd

Uma Exports Limited is an agricultural produce & commodity trading firm originally incorporated in 1988 as a private limited company under the Companies Act 1956. It was converted to a public limited company in 2009 and is engaged in trading & marketing of commodities including sugar, spices, food grains, tea, pulses, etc. The company imports bulk lentils, beans, and other commodities from Australia, Canada & Burma with economies of scale in mind. It has developed business strategies to proactively switch between different commodities when the demand & pricing is inconsistent. Uma Exports provides bulk goods to various institutional parties and has a pan-India presence, exporting to countries like Sri Lanka, UAE, Afghanistan & Bangladesh. It diversified its business in 1997 & was provided membership from various government bodies from 1998 to 2021. It had also set up a manufacturing facility for processed dal & pulses in 2010 & acquired foreign investments in 2014. However, the foreign subsidiary, Uma Export Pte. Ltd. was closed in 2021 due to lack of funds & business activities.
