About Gujarat Metallic Coal & Coke Ltd

Gujarat Metallic Coal & Coke Ltd. (formerly Arvind Chemicals Ltd.) was incorporated on March 20, 1992. Based in West Bengal, the company is engaged in the trading of coal & coke which is used for various industrial purposes such as steel production, cement manufacturing, small castings, and gas production. Arvind Chemicals Ltd. started as a partnership firm in 1976 and was converted into a public limited company in 1994. To bolster its manufacturing capacity, the company amalgamated to Fast Capital Securities Ltd., Vartika Traders Pvt. Ltd., and Arvind Commodities Ltd. during the financial years 2004-05 and 2007-08 respectively. Although initially they had a manufacturing unit in Jaipur for a wide range of foam-based products, the company discontinued their manufacturing activities in 2008-09 and instead invested in a wholly-owned Australian subsidiary called Happy Mining Pty. Ltd. This subsidiary was later dissolved into the parent company towards the end of 2018-19.
