National Stock Exchange of India Limited was incorporated as Public Limited Company dated November 27 1992 under the Companies Act 1956 vide Certificate of incorporation issued by the Assistant Registrar of Companies Maharashtra and commenced its operations pursuant to a Certificate of Commencement of Business dated March 2 1993.The National Stock Exchange of India Limited established in 1992 is the first demutualized electronic exchange in India. NSE was the first exchange in India to provide a modern fully automated screenbased electronic trading system which offered easy trading facility to the investors spread across the country. NSE introduce new products including the cash market futures options mutual funds platform commodity derivatives exchangetraded currency derivatives wholesale debt market and interest rate futures.NSE established NSE Clearing Limited NCL in August 1995 for providing clearing settlement services in India. In May 1998 Company commenced index services through NSE Indices Ltd. It established NSE Data and Analytics Limited in June 2000 to provide data analytics services providing comprehensive realtime market data benchmark data fixed income valuations and analytical tools to institutional investors SEBI regulators and asset managers. In May 2008 an RBISEBI Committee laid the framework for exchangetraded currency derivatives and NSE was the first stock exchange in India to launch exchangetraded currency derivatives on August 29 2008. Mutual Fund Service System MFSS was launched in FY2009 trading in currency options launched in 2010 debt segment launched in FY13 NSE International Exchange NSEIX was set up as subsidiary of the Company in November 2016 enabling the Indian and foreign entities to trade in foreign currencydenominated securities and financial products and access international financial markets allowing trading for 21 hours a day. NSE introduced electronic gold receipts on our platform as well as expanded the commodity derivatives offering to include new products such as 10gram gold futures contracts brent crude oil futures electricity futures and Indian natural gas futures. It announced the collaboration with SP Global Energy to launch derivatives on Platts benchmarks followed by the launch of Dated Brent Crude Oil Platts Futures.NSE launched futures and options contracts on Nifty Midcap Select Index in FY22. In FY23 SME companies listed on the NSE Emerge platform crossed Rs 1 trillion market capitalization launched Nifty Next 50 futures and options in FY24. At present NSE has expanded into complementary businesses including mutual fund registry services backend exchange support services for the business depositary services ecorporate governance mobile trading solutions commodity including the crude oil gas and electricity power and receivable exchanges coal exchanges etc. In FY2026 NSE enabled the capital mobilisation of over Rs4.78 trillion in equity capital and facilitated Total Fund Mobilisation of Rs 20.33 trillion through the business platform.
