About Burnpur Cement Ltd

Burnpur Cement Limited (BCL) was founded in June 1986 as Ashoka Concrete and Allied Industries Private Limited, and started operations in October the same year with a 30TPD Portland Slag Cement plant. BCL then changed to a public limited company in November 2001 and today produces 1000 TPD cement takeout. The company is well-known in India’s eastern states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, and Delhi, and in 2004 achieved an important honour by receiving ISO9001:2000 certification. In order to capitalize on capacity and supply of raw materials in the cement sector, BCL has decided to add an extra 800TPD to 1600TPD minimal expansion clinkerisation and cement grinding plant at Patratu Industrial Area, Hazaribagh Jharkhand. Furthermore, the Company has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Jharkhand and the Ranchi Industrial Area Development Authority to develop the project, and have applied to Jharkhand Mineral Development Corporation for limestone mining rights.
