How unit cancellation works:
The Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA – NSDL/Protean) automatically deducts the applicable fee by redeeming a small portion of your NPS units on a quarterly (pro-rata) basis.
Illustration:
If your total investment (AUM) is ₹1,00,000, the annual charge is 0.20% = ₹200. This is deducted as ₹50 per quarter by adjusting your unit balance slightly.
Important:
- There are no account opening charges and no transaction charges. Apart from the above-mentioned Annual Service Charge, no additional platform or service fees are applicable.
- GST or other applicable taxes shall be levied as per prevailing laws.
- Dormant accounts will not be charged. An account is considered dormant if, after a contribution is made in any given quarter, no further contributions are received for the next four consecutive quarters, as determined at the end of each quarter.
