Paras Healthcare's ₹1,450 crore IPO, priced at ₹660–₹693 per share, comes after a sharp financial turnaround. Revenue grew 24.10% to ₹1,605.95 crore in FY26, while the company moved from a ₹57.98 crore loss in FY25 to a ₹43.83 crore profit. However, at 171.06x FY26 earnings, investors must assess whether improving hospital performance justifies such a premium valuation.

Why Does Paras Healthcare Have Growth Potential?

Paras Healthcare operates eight hospitals with 2,211 beds, including 1,502 operational beds, across North India, Bihar and Jharkhand. Its six specialised treatment categories contributed 74.70% of FY26 revenue, while Tier-2 cities accounted for 68.18%. Bed occupancy improved from 50.78% in FY25 to 61.75% in FY26 and 69.72% in Q1 FY27, indicating better infrastructure utilisation.

The company also plans to add approximately 800 beds through new hospitals in Gurugram and Ludhiana by FY28. Higher occupancy across existing facilities and capacity expansion could support revenue growth. However, profitability will depend on how efficiently these hospitals attract patients and manage operating costs.

How Strong Is Paras Healthcare's Financial Turnaround?

Paras Healthcare's revenue increased from ₹1,129.04 crore in FY24 to ₹1,605.95 crore in FY26, reflecting a 19.26% CAGR. EBITDA more than doubled from ₹156.46 crore in FY25 to ₹335.58 crore in FY26, while the EBITDA margin reached 20.60%. The company also reported a ₹43.83 crore net profit after losses in the previous two financial years.

Q1 FY27 revenue rose approximately 27.7% year-on-year to ₹470.28 crore, with net profit reaching ₹49.68 crore. However, this included a deferred tax credit of approximately ₹16.2 crore. Meanwhile, FY26 operating cash flow of ₹163.51 crore remained below investing cash outflows of ₹239.41 crore, indicating that stronger earnings have not yet translated into sufficient internally generated cash to cover investment spending.

What Are the Biggest Risks in Paras Healthcare IPO?

Paras Healthcare plans to utilise ₹375 crore of its ₹500 crore fresh issue for debt repayment, potentially reducing consolidated borrowings from ₹888.89 crore to approximately ₹513.89 crore. However, the company will remain leveraged, while expansion could require additional funding.

Its Ranchi and Srinagar subsidiaries reported combined losses of ₹52.09 crore in FY26. Additionally, government schemes and PSUs contributed 41.28% of revenue, with government receivables reaching ₹380.08 crore by June 2026. Delayed payments, high employee attrition of 60.38%, and continued losses at newer hospitals remain important risks.

Is Paras Healthcare IPO Valuation Justified at ₹693?

At ₹693 per share, Paras Healthcare's implied market capitalisation is approximately ₹7,498 crore, translating into a 171.06x FY26 P/E ratio. This is considerably higher than Fortis Healthcare's 55.43x, Max Healthcare's 62.10x and Global health (Medanta) 64.46x in the supplied peer comparison.

Paras Healthcare's FY26 net profit margin stood at just 2.69%, compared with double-digit margins for these peers. Even if annual profit doubles to approximately ₹87.66 crore, the stock would still command a P/E of around 85.5x at the current valuation. This suggests that the IPO pricing factors in significant expectations of future earnings growth, making sustained profitability and operational efficiency critical to justifying its premium over established industry peers.

Author's Take

Paras Healthcare's improving occupancy, 24.10% revenue growth and return to profitability indicate a promising operational turnaround. Planned debt repayment could further support earnings by reducing interest costs.

However, 171x earnings is a demanding valuation for a business with a recent profit recovery, substantial borrowings and loss-making subsidiaries. Investors should closely track sustainable profit growth, cash generation and performance at newer hospitals.

The company offers growth potential, but the IPO valuation already reflects considerable expectations of future improvement, leaving limited room for execution setbacks.
