What is SIP in US Stocks?

How SIP in US stocks works?

A SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) in US stocks lets you invest a fixed amount into any US stock or ETF automatically on a weekly or monthly schedule. INDmoney’s US stocks SIP transfers funds directly from your linked Indian bank account to your US wallet based on the frequency and dates selected by you. No manual top-up is required.

Weekly SIP vs Monthly SIP in US stocks - Which is better?

Weekly SIPs give you more averaging opportunities across the month and reduce the impact of investing on a single market day. Monthly SIPs are simpler to manage and align naturally with salary cycles for most investors. INDmoney supports both options with complete flexibility to switch anytime.

SIP in individual US stocks vs Global ETFs

You can set up SIPs in individual US stocks or diversified global ETFs based on your investment preference and risk appetite. Global ETFs provide diversification across companies, countries, or themes, while individual stocks offer concentrated exposure to specific businesses.

Benefits of SIP in US Stocks for Indian Investors

  • vector of a rupee to dollar conversion showing dollar cost conversion

    Dollar & Rupee Cost Averaging

Each SIP buys USD at the exchange rate prevailing on that day. Across weekly or monthly SIPs over time, you average your INR-to-USD conversion rate, reducing the impact of any single day's unfavourable exchange rate. This applies rupee-cost averaging to both currency conversion and stock investing.

    Building Dollar Savings Systematically

A monthly SIP of ₹10,000 in US stocks is roughly equivalent to investing $120 every month. Over 12 months, that becomes nearly $1,440 invested in global markets without needing to make repeated active investment decisions. For Indian investors looking to build USD-denominated savings over time, SIP offers a systematic approach.
