H&E Equipment Services, Inc. is a rental equipment company. The Company's fleet is comprised of aerial work platforms, earthmoving, material handling, and other general and specialty lines. Its segments include equipment rentals, sales of rental equipment, sales of new equipment, and parts, services and other. Its rental operation is its principal focus, and it primarily rent its core types of construction and industrial equipment (aerial work platforms, earthmoving equipment, material handling equipment and other general and specialty lines). Its rental equipment sales are generated primarily from sales from its rental fleet. It sells equipment through a professional sales force. The Company's parts business provides parts to its own rental fleet and sells parts for the equipment it sells. Its services operation provides maintenance and repair services to its own rental fleet and for its customers' equipment at its facilities as well as at its customers' locations.
