Jaysynth Dyestuff I JDIL is a manufactuerer of reactive dyes, disperse dyes, and pigments that have been around since 1985. The three production units are located in Vapi, Gujarat, Turbhe, and Patalganga, Maharashtra. Reactive and disperse dyes are the main high-growth products, with pigments also enjoying a good market both domestically and internationally. In 1995, a forward integration programme to produce alpha blue and beta blue pigments was implemented at a cost of Rs 9.25 cr., and the production capacity was set to 670tpa. That same year, the company completed a balancing-cum-expansion scheme to increase the manufacturing capacity of the dyestuff from 4680 tpa to 6000 tpa at a cost of Rs 25 cr. The project funding came from term loans and internal accruals, and the products were available both domestically and globally. However, due to the accumulated losses eroding the networth, the Board declared itself as Sick and appointed ICICI as the Operating Agency for rehabilitation.
