Infra Industries IIL (IIL) was founded in December 1989 as InfraPlastic Industries Pvt Ltd. The company changed its name to Infra Industries Pvt Ltd in July 1994 and was converted to a public limited company one month later. Initially producing mainly water and chemical storage tanks, bins and containers under the Infra brand, IIL had a capacity of 780 tons per annum. In May 1995, the company successfully issued a public issue to increase its capacity to 2019 tons and diversify into producing PVC SWR pipe fittings with a capacity of 970 tons and coextruded thermoplastic products with 4030 tons of capacity. The coextruded thermoplastic products, mostly sheetings made from polystyrene, have applications in white goods, luggage, disposables and chemical tank liners. PVC SWR pipe fittings are used in the building and construction industry.
