Zinc Mini Futures

Zinc Mini futures is an MCX contract to buy or sell Zinc Mini at a pre-agreed price on a future date. It lets you take leveraged exposure to Zinc Mini price movements without owning the physical commodity.

One lot of Zinc Mini futures on MCX is 1 MT. Contract value = lot size x price; you pay only a margin (a fraction of contract value) to take a position.

The Zinc Mini futures price tracks the global/spot price of Zinc Mini, adjusted for the USD-INR rate, cost of carry and domestic demand-supply. It updates live during MCX trading hours.

You need SPAN + exposure margin set by MCX and your broker (typically a small percentage of contract value). The live margin is shown on the Zinc Mini futures page before you place an order.

MCX Zinc Mini futures trade Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to about 11:30 PM IST (the evening close shifts with US daylight saving). They are closed on MCX holidays.

Depending on the contract, Zinc Mini settles by compulsory delivery or in cash at expiry per MCX rules. Most traders exit before expiry to avoid delivery obligations.
