SBI, ICICI Prudential, HDFC, Nippon India and Axis are among the domestic fund houses that received anchor shares in the Bonfiglioli Transmissions IPO. Across the full list, 20 fund houses received 76,72,675 shares at Rs 586 each, representing an investment of approximately Rs 449.62 crore.

That accounts for 59.22% of the approximately Rs 759.26 crore anchor book finalised on October 14, 2026. The participation covers 46 scheme and strategy entries, spanning equity, hybrid, manufacturing, infrastructure and specialised investment funds.

Updated October 15, 2026, using the official October 14 anchor allocation. This article explains the complete domestic fund list and the financial questions behind the institutional interest.

Which Mutual Funds Received Bonfiglioli Transmissions IPO Shares

The company allocated 1,29,56,712 shares across the entire anchor book at Rs 586 each. The following table covers all 20 fund houses and all 46 entries within the domestic mutual fund allocation.

Anchor investors are eligible institutions allocated shares before the public subscription period. Their allocation is included within the IPO, and does not represent an additional amount above the offer.

Amounts in each row combine the investments of the schemes and strategies named alongside that fund house. They should not be interpreted as the investment of every scheme managed by the same AMC.

The 46 entries include 5 SIF strategies, comprising iSIF Hybrid Long Short Fund, 3 Apex strategies and Altiva Equity Long Short Fund. Their inclusion means the entire domestic allocation should not be described as money from conventional retail mutual fund schemes alone.

The exact domestic allocation value is Rs 449.618755 crore, which rounds to Rs 449.62 crore. Rounded row values can differ slightly from the total, which is calculated using the underlying share counts.

Which Schemes Made the Largest Bonfiglioli IPO Investments

SBI Dividend Yield Fund received the largest individual allocation within the domestic scheme table, at approximately Rs 42 crore. ICICI Prudential Innovation Fund followed with approximately Rs 40 crore, while Nippon India Small Cap Fund received approximately Rs 33.58 crore.

At the fund house level, SBI, ICICI Prudential and HDFC each received approximately Rs 60 crore. Those equal totals were divided differently, with HDFC spreading its allocation across 9 entries.

That distinction matters because an IPO can play different roles in different portfolios. The relevant comparison is how much each scheme invested relative to its own assets, together with the other businesses it already owns.

What Does Bonfiglioli Transmissions Do

Bonfiglioli supplies mechanical and electromechanical power transmission and industrial drive solutions. In simple terms, its gearboxes, gear motors and drive systems help machinery control movement, speed and turning force.

Its products serve industrial automation, off highway mobility and wind applications. This is a machinery component business, rather than an electricity transmission utility operating power lines.

The potential investment case is that spending on factories, automation and equipment can create demand for these components. Participation by infrastructure, manufacturing and innovation schemes is consistent with those themes, although the allocation letter does not disclose the reasoning of individual managers.

Investors still need to examine the commercial terms. An established product can generate attractive profits only if pricing, manufacturing efficiency and customer relationships allow the supplier to retain enough of the value it creates.

What Do the Latest Bonfiglioli Financials Show

Bonfiglioli uses a December year end, so its latest full financial year in the offer document is the year ended December 31, 2025. The six month results ended June 30, 2026 provide a more recent comparison with the equivalent period in 2025.

Profit after tax237.87114.97148.58

Source. Bonfiglioli Transmissions red herring prospectus dated October 9, 2026, summary financial statements. Figures originally disclosed in Rs million are converted into Rs crore, and the six month figures are not annualised.

Revenue rose approximately 17.9% in the latest six month comparison, while profit increased approximately 29.2%. Profit growing faster than sales is encouraging, but investors should check whether the improvement can continue as orders, product mix and input costs change.

At Rs 586, the price is approximately 46.3 times the diluted earnings per share of Rs 12.65 reported for the year ended December 2025. This historical multiple helps frame the expectations embedded in the price, rather than establishing whether the share is automatically attractive.

A useful question is how much growth must continue to justify that valuation. Simply doubling the latest six month profit would assume that the second half repeats the first, an assumption that should be tested rather than treated as a forecast.

Where Will the Bonfiglioli IPO Money Go

The IPO is entirely an offer for sale by promoter Bonfiglioli S.p.A. The Indian operating company will not receive fresh proceeds from the issue.

The implication is straightforward, the IPO transfers ownership of existing shares rather than adding growth capital to the balance sheet. Any future expansion must therefore be assessed against operating cash generation and other available financing sources.

Investors should also review the dependence on the promoter for technology and intellectual property, alongside supplier and customer concentration. These relationships can support the business, but their cost and continuity matter to the profits available to public shareholders.

How Should Mutual Fund Investors Interpret the Anchor List

The presence of large cap, small cap, hybrid and thematic schemes shows why a fund category name alone does not describe every holding. A manufacturing company can fit different portfolios within their respective mandates and allocation limits.

A hybrid or equity savings fund may also use hedges or maintain substantial assets elsewhere. Its purchase of shares does not, by itself, reveal the net equity risk of the portfolio or the role assigned to that position.

For an existing investor, the next useful document is the portfolio disclosure showing the holding as a percentage of scheme assets. For someone choosing a new fund, how to select a mutual fund remains a broader decision involving investment goals, risk, costs and the complete portfolio.

An IPO anchor list also records one allocation event rather than a permanent ownership commitment. The prospectus provides for half the anchor shares to be locked for 30 days from allotment and the remaining half for 90 days, after which actual changes in ownership require separate evidence.

Questions Investors Ask About Bonfiglioli IPO Mutual Funds

Did SBI Mutual Fund invest in Bonfiglioli Transmissions IPO

Yes, the domestic allocation table lists SBI Dividend Yield Fund, SBI MNC Fund and SBI Resurgent India Opportunities Scheme. Their combined allocation was approximately Rs 60 crore, with the largest portion going to SBI Dividend Yield Fund.

Does HDFC participation mean all HDFC schemes own the company

No, only the named schemes received the disclosed anchor allocations. The investment of one scheme cannot be attributed to another scheme simply because both are managed by HDFC.

Is the domestic mutual fund allocation an extra amount above the anchor book

No, the Rs 449.62 crore domestic allocation is included within the Rs 759.26 crore anchor book. Adding the 2 amounts would count the domestic portion twice.

What Should Investors Watch Beyond the Bonfiglioli Anchor Book

The anchor allocation establishes broad participation across domestic fund houses. The business evidence to watch is whether revenue growth, margins and cash generation continue to support the expectations reflected in the IPO price.

The latest six month results provide a useful starting point, while the entirely offer for sale structure and promoter relationships add context. For mutual fund investors, the holding size within the scheme remains more useful than the prominence of a name in an IPO headline.
