About Urban One Inc

Urban One, Inc., along with its various subsidiaries, functions as a diversified media enterprise catering primarily to urban audiences across the United States. Its operations are structured into four key divisions: Radio Broadcasting, Cable Television, Reach Media, and Digital platforms. The Radio Broadcasting division focuses on radio services aimed predominantly at African-American and urban demographics. By the end of 2021, this segment managed a portfolio of 64 broadcast stations, comprising 54 FM/AM, 8 HD, and 2 low-power television stations, all operating under the Radio One brand within 13 major urban centers. The Cable Television segment oversees TV One, a cable network specifically for African-American viewers, alongside CLEO TV, which offers lifestyle and entertainment content. Reach Media handles syndicated programs such as "Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell," "Rickey Smiley Morning Show," "Russ Parr Morning Show," and "The DL Hughley Show." Additionally, this division runs BlackAmericaWeb.com, an online portal for news and entertainment geared towards the African-American community, and organizes various special events. The Digital segment encompasses Interactive One, a comprehensive digital platform dedicated to serving the African-American populace with social content, news, information, and entertainment via websites like Cassius, Bossip, HipHopWired, and MadameNoire. Originally established in 1980 as Radio One, Inc., the company adopted its current name, Urban One, Inc., in May 2017. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Silver Spring, Maryland.
