GAIL (India) Limited, formerly known as Gas Authority of India Limited, is a leading public sector company in the natural gas sector. Incorporated in 1984 by the Government of India, GAIL is headquartered in New Delhi and is registered under the Company Identification Number (CIN) L40200DL1984GOI018976. The company operates primarily in natural gas processing and distribution and also engages in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production, petrochemicals, and the transmission of liquid hydrocarbons. GAIL's extensive pipeline network spans over 14,000 kilometers, making it a vital component of India's energy infrastructure.
