Reliance Industries Limited, founded by Dhirubhai Ambani in 1966, is India's largest conglomerate, operating in oil and chemicals, retail, digital services, and media. As of March 31, 2025, its digital arm, Jio, served 488.2 million subscribers. Reliance Retail managed 19,340 stores and catered to 349 million registered customers in fiscal year 2025. In FY25, RIL became the first Indian firm with a net worth over ₹10 lakh crore. Its market capitalization was ₹18.45 trillion after its Q4 FY25 earnings in April 2025. A key achievement is its 5G network expansion, reaching 191 million True 5G users by March 2025.
Reliance Industries Ltd has a diversified business portfolio. Its Oil to Chemicals (O2C) division handles refining, petrochemicals, and fuel retail (including Jio-bp). The Retail segment, India's largest, offers diverse store formats, e-commerce via JioMart, and consumer brands, leading in grocery, apparel, and electronics. Digital Services, through Jio Platforms, provides mobile/broadband connectivity, including a major 5G rollout, and digital apps. The company also has media interests. Revenue comes from these segments. For the quarter ended March 31, 2025, Jio Platforms reported ₹39,853 crore in revenue. Reliance Retail's revenue was ₹88,620 crore. The O2C segment's gross revenue was ₹1,61,748 crore, and the Oil and Gas segment's revenue was ₹6,440 crore for the same period.
Jio (Digital Services): Jio offers mobile voice/data services, a nationwide 5G network, and JioFiber fixed broadband, plus digital apps. By March 31, 2025, Jio had 488.2 million subscribers, including 191 million True 5G users. Its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) was ₹206.2 for Q4 FY25. Jio's data traffic grew 19.6% year-over-year in Q4 FY25.
Reliance Retail: Reliance Retail is India's largest retailer with formats like supermarkets, electronics, and fashion stores, and JioMart online. As of March 31, 2025, it had 19,340 stores covering 77.4 million sq ft. In FY25, it served 349 million registered customers and processed 1.4 billion transactions. JioMart's daily quick commerce orders rose 2.4 times quarter-over-quarter at Q4 FY25-end.
Oil to Chemicals (O2C): The O2C segment covers oil refining, petrochemicals, and fuel retailing (including Jio-bp). It focuses on feedstock optimization and domestic market expansion. For Q4 FY25, O2C gross revenue was ₹1,61,748 crore.
Oil and Gas (Exploration & Production): This segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil and natural gas, with key operations in the KG D6 block. Its revenue for Q4 FY25 was ₹6,440 crore.
Reliance Industries plans future growth through several initiatives. As of April 2025, it approved raising ₹25,000 crore via debt to fund expansion in digital services, new energy, retail, and telecom infrastructure. In new energy, Reliance aims to make its renewable energy and battery projects operational in the coming quarters, as stated in April 2025. Additionally, Jio Platforms partnered with SpaceX in Q4 FY25 to offer Starlink's satellite broadband services in India, expanding connectivity options.
