REC Limited (formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited) is a leading public sector company in the financial services sector, primarily focusing on financing power sector projects across India. Incorporated in 1969, REC was established by the Government of India and is headquartered in New Delhi. The company is registered under the Company Identification Number (CIN) L40101DL1969GOI005095. REC provides financial assistance to state electricity boards, state governments, central/state power utilities, independent power producers, rural electric cooperatives, and private sector utilities.

REC operates mainly within India and does not have specific sub-brands, but it offers a broad range of financial products and services, including project financing, loans for transmission and distribution projects, and financial consulting for power infrastructure development.
