About SJVN Ltd
Incorporated on May 24, 1988, SJVN (formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam) is a Navratna PSU. It is a joint venture between the government of India and Himachal Pradesh. The company was listed on the stock exchange in May 2010 via an IPO worth ₹1,062.74 crore.
SJVN is in the business of power generation, distribution, and trading. As of FY24, the company has 86 power generation projects under hydro, renewable, and thermal, of which 13 are currently in operation. To facilitate transmission, the company also has 3 transmission line projects, two of which are under operation and one under construction, bringing the total network to 340 kilometers.
