The Company was incorporated on 19 February 2019 as a public limited company in Bengaluru. The Company has extensive installed base for manufacturing of electric motors generators transformers and electricity distribution and control apparatus and has a countrywide marketing and service presence. Besides catering to Indian domestic market it plays an increasing role in global market such as Asia Middle East Africa Europe and Americas.The Board of Directors of ABB India Limited on March 5 2019 granted inprinciple approval for the Scheme of Arrangement under Sections 230232 and other applicable provisions of the Companies Act 2013 between ABB India Limited Demerged Company ABB Power Products and Systems India Limited Resulting Company and their respective shareholders and creditors for the demerger of Power Grid business from ABB India Limited into ABB Power Products and Systems India Limited. The Scheme of Arrangement for Demerger was submitted to National Company Law Tribunal NCLT Bengaluru Bench for approval. Inprinciple approval of the Demerger Scheme was obtained from NCLT on November 27 2019 and a certified copy has been filed by the Company with the Registrar of Companies Bengaluru on December 1 2019. Scheme was April 1 2019 and the Effective Date was December 1 2019.ABB Power Products and Systems India Limited APPSIL operates as Hitachi ABB Power Grids in India. The Company at present has nearly 16 manufacturing units in five key locations and 17 sales offices with over 2000 employees and serving nearly 1000 customers. Headquartered in Bengaluru ABB Power Products and Systems India Limited became a standalone legal entity in 2019 after demerging from ABB India Ltd. The Company established a worldclass digital experience center demonstrating the next level of enterprise performance for enhanced grid stability improved asset performance and efficient operational management and also began work on its HighVoltage Products Innovation Center as part of investment in strategic research and development. The Company also laid the foundation for projects in the emobility space in the country with TOSA electricbus flashcharging technology. The Company partnered with Ashok Leyland in 2020 to facilitate a zeroemissions mass public transportation bus system. The Company operates across four business lines such as grid automation grid integration high voltage products and transformers and provide product system software and service solutions over the entire power value chain. The Company supply products and components systems software and automation and services through four businesses and partner with customers through the entire product and project lifecycle from building and planning to operating and maintaining.In 1949 Hindustan Electric Company got incorporated and later was acquired by Brown Boveri Cie BBC. In 1965 the Company established its first manufacturing facility in Maneja Vadodara the circuit breaker factory in India.In 1988 ASEA and BBC merged to form ABB .In 1989 the Company executed the commissioning of first backtoback HVDC transmission link project for NPTCL at Vindhyachal connecting the northern and western grids.In 2013 Company inaugurated the drytype transformers and PASSGIS factories in Savli Vadodara under the MakeinIndia Initiative.In 2015 the Company had installed endtoend power solutions for Delhi Metro and SCADA to monitor and control the power network.In 2016 the Company energized the worlds highest rated 1200 KV transformer and circuit breaker.In 2017 the Company executed the Commissioning of worlds first multiterminal UHVDC linkthe 6000MW 800kV DC link project connecting NorthEast to Agra.In 2018 the Company ventured into partnership with the Indian Railways Electrification ambitions with extensive traction equipment orders.In 2019 the Company booked its first Order for cyber security from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited PGCIL Roorkee. The Company sold largest single Feeder Remote Terminal Unit Order from Asian Fabtech for Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited in a year. It executed the commissioning of its first multiprotocol label switching transmission protocol fiber optical transmission equipment order for 1400 km oil and gas pipelines for Pipeline Infrastructure Limited. The Company booked milestone orders for traction transformers for Indian Railways under their Mission Electrification. The Company also booked HVDC upgrade order for PGCILs RihandDadri HVDC link a recovery and restoration order for Thyristor Controlled Series Compensation solution at Raipur Substation lifecycle service orders for grid automation from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Vedanta NTPC and PGCIL and many others. The transformers business booked breakthrough orders in Africa South America and Asia. They further ventured into the business of Angola and booked the first order for the 245 kV vertical break disconnector from the U.S.In 2020 the Company signed MOU for TOSA electricbus flashcharging technology with Ashok Leyland. It launched a worldclass digital experience center PowerDEC Bengaluru. and further inaugurated HighVoltage Products Innovation Center at Vadodara.
