CSB Bank Limited (Formerly The Catholic Syrian Bank), one of India’s fastest growing private sector banks, has 603 branches and 459 ATMs spread over the country. It has been incorporated in November 1926 and operates four main segments: SME Banking, Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking and Treasury operations. During FY2020, it raised capital of Rs 409.68 crore through Initial Public Offering (IPO) and the shares of the bank were listed in BSE and NSE from December 4, 2019.
In the past, the Bank has taken part in the consolidation of various small to medium-sized banks in Kerala, and eventually attained the status of A Class Scheduled Bank in 1975 when its total deposits exceeded Rs 25 crores. It has built a strong rural base with around 80% of its branches in rural and semi-urban areas. Several investments in the money market, capital market instruments, and in-house equity research were made in the subsequent years. The Bank has also tie-up arrangements with five companies to market their mutual fund products and entered the field of foreign exchange in 1975.

Throughout the years, the Bank has been focussing on increasing its distribution network with the aim of providing banking and financial services to more and more customers. In financial year 2021, 101 new branches and 18 ATMs/CRMs were opened while in financial year 2022, 100 new branches and 144 new ATMs/CRMs were added. To strengthen the business, nine existing branches were merged and 34 ATMs relocated in financial year 202122.

The Bank is presently owned by FIH Mauritius Investments Ltd (FIHM) that holds 86,262,976 share constituting 49.72% of the paid-up capital. The Bank is set to increase its market share with strong strategies in place to ensure success.
