Equitas Small Finance Bank Limited (ESFBL) is one of the largest small finance banks in India, with a firmly entrenched strategy to focus on providing credit to the unbanked and underbanked micro and small entrepreneurs. Serving individuals with limited access to formal financing channels, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and corporates, ESFBL offers a range of asset and liability products and services. From small business loans, microfinance to joint liability groups, commercial vehicle loans and micro enterprise loans, to current accounts, salary accounts, savings accounts and a variety of deposit accounts, and the provison of ATM-cum-debit cards, third party insurance, mutual fund products and issuance of FASTag, ESFBL meets the needs of customers all across 15 States/Union Territories, with 853 locations and 322 ATMs and cash recyclers. In 2021, ESFBL approved a Scheme of Amalgamation between ESFBL and Equitas Holding Limited which led to a raise of Rs. 250 crore through private placement to IIFL AIF - resulting in a 4.51% stake in post-issue paid-up share capital, and Rs. 550 crore raised through a Qualified Institutions Placement QIP - bringing the bank up to Minimum Public Shareholding regulation requirements. These initiatives have allowed ESFBL to provide banking and digital solutions, with transactions through retail internet banking amounting to Rs. 3,802 crores in 2020. This new-age bank is firmly committed to the unbanked and underbanked as it continues to fulfill its purpose of advancing financial inclusion and enabling economic growth in India.
