About Star Health & Allied Insurance Company Ltd

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited was founded in 2005 in Chennai with the aim of becoming India’s first standalone health insurance provider. With a long-standing relationship with banks in India, Star Health insurance has grown in stature and is now the third biggest health insurer in terms of market share with 15.35%. It offers policies customised around the needs of individuals, families and companies, through its network comprising agents, brokers and online format.

The company had a successful public issue in December 2021 with an allotment of Rs 6400 crore, including Rs 2000 crore being issued through a fresh issue and Rs 4400 crore through offer for sale, at the price of Rs 900 per share. As of 31st March 2022, Star Health had 807 branches in 26 states and 4 Union Territories throughout India as well as over 12820 affiliated hospitals across the country. With its wide coverage, Star Health is helping to make healthcare more accessible to all individuals, families and companies in India.
