About Welspun Specialty Solutions Ltd

Remi Metals Gujarat Ltd (RMGL) is a steel manufacturing company incorporated in January 1993 and owned by V C Saraf, R C Saraf, the Remi Group of India, the Doshi Group of Kenya, Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation and Essar Gujarat. RMGL has a plant in Bharuch, Gujarat and is in the business of making steel, seamless pipes, and other related products, with a capacity of 100000 tonnes per annum. Major clients include ONGC, Oil India, and the bearings industry. In 1994, RMGL launched a Rs. 38 crore public issue to finance an upcoming project worth Rs. 220 crore. The company entered into a technical collaboration with Intertech Internationale Techniscle Assistenz for the manufacturing of 70000 tonnes per annum of carbonalloy steel pipes and tubes. RMGL is considered to be a sick company by BIFR and is currently being managed by IDBI as the Operating Agency.
