Tyroon Tea Company Ltd (526945)

Incorporated in 1890, Tyroon Tea Company was formed with the goal of acquiring the business of George Frederick Pinney. However, in 1970 the system of managing agency was abolished and the company has been managed by the Board of Directors since then. A.K. Jalan the current promoter acquired the shares of the company from McLeod Company in 1988 and is managing the company since. The main business of the company is tea plantation and processing, with a tea estate installed capacity of 1061617 kg per annum of made tea. The company is selling tea through a combination of auction and wholesale outlets at places such as Bombay, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur and Allahabad. To boost production, the company expanded and modernised their tea divisions and processing facilities, and it has since been able to manufacture up to 17.5 lac kg pa. To fund this expansion, the company even launched a public issue in 1995. Widely-recognised for their quality products, Tyroon Tea Company also launched poly pouches to package and sell their teas.
