About Timken India Ltd

Timken India Limited (TIL), formerly known as Tata Timken, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of tapered roller bearings, components and accessories for the automotive and railway sectors. It offers specialised maintenance and refurbishment services, including round-the-clock management of customers' roll shop and bearing maintenance. TIL also provides solutions to technical problems via expert knowledge and experience in bearing and steel rolling mills. In 2002, the company acquired The Torrington Company, extending its product range and bringing a line of engineered products and services. To extend further, the company invested an approximate amount of Rs 17.25 Crores for projects such as the small bearing project and double extended cone project. Expansion projects undertaken by the company include installing an 8 cone line with a capacity of over 5 lacs tapered single cones and, more recently, a large size cup line at 4.50 Crores. In 2008, TIL acquired two strategic services contracts in the steel industry. Strategic stakeholders approved a Scheme of Amalgamation for ABC Bearings Limited and TIL in 2018. With these initiatives, TIL is aiming to become a global leader in the bearing market with a value-adding proposition for its existing business.
