About India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd

ITDC (India Tourism Development Corporation) was incorporated in 1965 to develop and manage tourism hospitality and transport services. It operates hotels, restaurants, and duty-free stores, and provides entertainment, hospitality, and tourism training. As of March 31 2019, ITDC has four operating subsidiaries - Pondicherry Ashok Hotel Corporation Ltd, Ranchi Ashok Bihar Hotel Corporation Ltd., Utkal Ashok Hotel Corporation Ltd., and Punjab Ashok Hotel Company Ltd. The company has worked on various projects for the government including the Sound and Light Show Projects at Kanke Dam in Ranchi and Dhauli in Odisha. It set up a Centre of Excellence at Hotel Samrat in New Delhi offering 3-year degree courses in Hotel Management, and renovated 48 guest rooms in the Annexe Building. ITDC also handed back the property of Hotel Janpath to the Ministry of Urban Development, along with transferring its investments in AAHCL (Assam Ashok Hotel Corporation Limited) and MPAHCL (Madhya Pradesh Ashok Hotel Corporation Limited) to their respective state governments. During 2018-19 it operated 6 hotels and 13 duty-free shops, and approved a loan of Rs 10,00,000 in March 2019 to M/s Utkal Ashok Hotel Corporation Ltd. The year also saw the Chefs of ITDC participating in numerous international food festivals. In addition, various food festivals and promotions were organized in ITDC hotels to exhibit the richness of the country's cuisine, while inaugurating a new Discotheque/Club and a Mediterranean restaurant. The Ashok Travels and Tours Division opened an outlet at the Ashok Hotel shopping arcade, while the Ashok Consultancy and Engineering Services completed more than 100 infrastructure projects and prepared 87 detailed project reports in the tourism field.
