About Five-Star Business Finance Ltd

FiveStar Business Finance Limited was incorporated in May 1984 as a Private Limited Company and was subsequently converted into a Public Limited Company in October 1988 with its name changing to FiveStar Business Finance Limited after a special resolution passed in April 2016. The company is registered with the RBI and specializes in lending secured business loans to micro-entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals without taking public deposits. It operates from its headquarters in Chennai Tamil Nadu, with a network of 311 branches as of June 30, 2022 distributed across four states; Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. The company has implemented a secured risk management and collection framework and secures its capital from various sources such as term loans, securitized loans, NCDs and PPMDs. It shuffled its portfolio to focus on immovable property financing in 2008 and further expanded to Telangana in 2017. It had a wholly-owned subsidiary- FiveStar Housing Finance Private Limited- which was merged with the company in the financial year 2019-2020. The company raised Rs 1960.005 crores during a public issue in November 2022.
