About Dai-ichi Karkaria Ltd

Dai Ichi KarkariaDIK, a speciality chemicals manufacturer has inked a deal with Matsumoto to produce spin finishes used to impart lubrication and antistatic properties to fabrics. The company is now increasing its production capacity to 3000 tonnes per annum (tpa) from the previous 750 tpa. DIK has also installed a unit for manufacturing bulk drugs-omeprazole menadione and calcium pentothenate- the latter two for the first time in India. Furthermore, it is setting up 600 tpa capacity unit for producing polyacrylamide-based flocculents for solid-liquid separation applications.
Additionally, the company has completed its expansion project in Kurkumbh with the help of a joint venture project consultant. It has scaled up patented molecule processes to commercial levels and is working to upgrade its pilot facility to meet strict cGMP conditions. On the product front, spin finishes for POY and DTY were accepted in the market and a few leading synthetic fibre manufacturers placed orders. Eight new products in various therapeutic areas, such as cardiovascular, antihistaminics, analgesics, anxiolytic, antidepressant and anticonvulsants, were also launched. Finally, the diversification program focus in the three major areas- ETP, paper and Alumina industry.
