About Swasti Vinayaka Synthetics Ltd

Swasti Vinayaka Synthetics (formerly known as Vinayaka Synthetics) was founded in 1981 by Ramprasad Poddar of the Siyaram Poddar Group. Located in Tarapur and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra, they produce and sell suitings and shirtings under the brand name Vinayaka through a wholesalers/retailers network. In 1995, they launched a new range of superior quality satins, twills, matts and light fabrics under the brand names Celebration, Elcid, Brilliant and Super Velvettouch. The company is now focusing on exports, having shipped to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Singapore and other East Asia countries. To finance their operations, they issued a 1:2 rights issue in 1992. To improve sales and serve their customers at ex-factory rates, they are converting their Tarapur plant's top floor into a hypermarket.
