About Amit International Ltd

Amit International is a public limited company founded in February 1994 that manufactures and exports cotton sports socks. It was incorporated after taking over two partnership firms, Amit Exports and Minal Exports, who have been engaged in the industry since 1988. It is promoted by J A Doshi, Kirti Doshi, Manoj Doshi, and Mahesh Doshi. In September 1995, the company launched a public issue of 1.5 million equity shares of Rs 10 each for a premium of Rs 15 per share, raising a total of Rs 38.48 crores to expand the capacity of the manufacturing unit located in Silvassa, from 2.1 lac dozen pairs per annum to 8.4 lac dozen pairs per annum. Amit International also exports its products to the Netherlands, Germany, UK, etc. To gain a strong foothold in the American market, the company set up its wholly-owned subsidiary, Rimmel Rogers Inc., and contributed Rs. 9 Lacs to acquire 25,000 shares of US$1 each.
