About Shreyas Intermediates Ltd

Shreyas Intermediates Private Limited (SIL) was set up in November 1989 and became a public limited company in April 1992. It manufactures napthalene-based dye intermediates at its plant in Lote Parshuram, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. This initially included Hacid at 1080 tonne per annum capacity. In December 1993, SIL came out with an IPO of Rs 3.29 cr to diversify their production and shift to copper phthalocyanine blue and green with capacity of 540 tonne and 321 tonne per annum respectively. This estimated project cost Rs 8.60 cr. These products possess great export potential, especially to the USA and Germany for use in plastic colours, direct colours, inks, rubber paints, and in the paint industry. However, during the year 19992000, SIL saw a drastic fall in the profitability of Hacid, leading to its production being suspended and the plant being converted to manufacture pigments.
