About Sasken Technologies Ltd

Sasken Communication Technology Ltd. (SCTL), founded in 1989 in the state of Gujarat, India is a SEI CMM Level 5 certified embedded communications solutions company that helps businesses speed up product development. Sasken offers R&D consultancy, wireless and software services, and work with a variety of OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) across the world. It has participated in various bodies such as ITU, 3GPP, GCF, MPEG, ISO, WiMAX, NFC, DLNA, and ATM DSL SDR forums.
SCTL received its first telecom contract in 1993 and began investing in R&D in that space. It partnered with DLNA in 1997, changed its name from Silicon Automation Systems India to Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd. in 2000, and had its first licensing deal in the wireless space the same year. In 2001, SCTL was assessed at SEI CMM Level 5, received ISO9001:2000 certification, and was awarded an NHRD (National Human Resources Development) award.
In 2005, SCTL went public and acquired iSoftTech Private Ltd in Chennai and Botnia Hightech in Finland in 2006. In 2007, Sasken Automotive Electronics Pvt Ltd (TSAE), a joint venture between SCTL and Tata Autocomp, was formed to develop automotive electronic products. 2008 saw them transferring their adaptation software RD operations to Bochum, Germany as well as its first NFC Software Stack partner agreement with Innovision Research and Technology in the UK.
