About Mysore Petro Chemicals Ltd

Mysore Petrochemicals is a public ltd. company established in 1976, owned by H.P. Dhanuka with two plants in Raichur, Karnataka (capaciti of 12,000 tpa) and Taloja, Maharashtra (capacity of 5400 mt). The company manufactures phthalic anhydride (PA) and maleic anhydride (MA) and, in collaboration with Chemis-Fabrik von Heyden and Lurgi Germany, diversified into maleic anhydride production with a capacity of 45000 tpa. Subsequently, IG Petrochemicals was established by MPCL as a 100% EOU to produce phthalic anhydride (PA2) and, in recent years, the production has been improved with new catalyst in the plant at Raichur. Despite the development, following financial erosion of the net worth, MPCL was declared as a ‘sick unit’ and IIBI was appointed as the operating agency by BIFR.
