About Modipon Ltd

Established in 1965, Modipon is a joint venture between the Modi and Rohm Haas groups based in the US. In 1982, the company amalgamated with Indofil Chemicals, trading in leather chemicals and agrochemicals, enabling it to reach a broader market. In addition, Modipon has developed a technical collaboration with NOY Engineering, Italy, for the latest nylon and polyester filament technology. As part of an expansion programme, the company's production capacity for synthetic filament yarn was increased from 0 to 7500 Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA). In addition, the company's debottlenecking and technological upgradation scheme at its Thane plant meant manufacturing of Mancozeb Fungicide was increased whilst controlling effluent and pollution levels. To recognise the efforts put in for improved efficiency, the division was granted with an ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2000-2001.
