About Lords Chloro Alkali Ltd

Modi Alkali and Chemicals Ltd. (MACL), was incorporated in March 1979, and obtained its certificate for business commencement in March 1981. It is currently controlled by MPL MIL and the K N Modi group, who also have interests in Modipon MIL MCL and Modi Cement. MACL recently held a rights issue of 44.78 lakh equity shares with a premium of Rs. 20 totaling 13.43 crores in order to expand its longterm working capital needs and its caustic soda plant, as well as install an aluminum chloride plant. It produces a range of products including caustic soda, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, bleach liquor, and bleaching powder, among others. It has a technical collaboration with Asahi Chemicals of Japan to use membrane cell technology to manufacture caustic soda, and exports to countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, South Africa, the UK, and Australia. The company has modernized its existing 200 TPD Mercury Cell Plant into a Membrane Cell Plant, and is producing another DG set which is expected to increase production to 70 MT upon commencement.
