About Ishita Drugs & Industries Ltd

Ishita Drugs Industries was founded in Feb 1992 by Jagdish Agarwal in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The project established a capacity of 408 tonnes per annum (tpa) of bulk drugs for commercial production in Jan 1995. Due to the dumping of Chinese exports in the bulk drug market, the company decided to expand its product range to fluoroquinolones (latest broad spectrum antibiotics). An in house research and development (RD) laboratory was created for the production of norfloxacin, with technology implemented in Oct 1995. This change was necessary to stay competitive.
