About Kopran Ltd

Kopran, a pharmaceutical company controlled by Parijat Enterprises and promoted by Somani group, came out with a public issue in Nov.92 to finance its backward integration project and expand its antibiotic facility. Its bulk drug plant is approved by the US FDA and UK regulatory authorities, and in 1995 they were awarded Quality Excellence award by Indian Drug Manufacturers Association. Kopran manufactures penicillin and amoxycillin and has collaborations with Germany, South Korea, US and Adac Laboratories.They launched new products for therapeutic groups like asthma, cardiology, diabetes and lifestyle and obtained approval from European Directorate for Quality of Medicines and UK MHRA. Furthermore, they increased their installed capacity of liquids by 3.00 lakhs of liters and tablets/capsules by 270 croresNos during 2001. They also had tied up with EMerck for comarketing a new antiinflammatory drug in India and subsequently launched Cholestat Atorvastatin. Kopran has a high growth rate in exports and has been ranked amongst the top few fastest growing companies in IndiaORG Marg June 2000.
