About Hindustan Fluoro Carbons Ltd

Hindustan Fluorocarbons (HFL) is a private limited company incorporated in 1983, which became a deemed public limited company in the same year. With its promoters being Hindustan Organic Chemicals (HOC) and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (APIDC), the company manufactures plastics synthetic resins synthetic rubber and synthetic fibres. HFL has entered a technical agreement with Atochem France and also manufactures Poly tetra flouro ethylene (PTFE), which is an import substitute. Furthermore it has also developed bogie bearing pads and rubbing plates for EMU coaches. It has export agreements with Europe, US and Canada and it has been declared as a sick company by BIFR for cheap imports. DuPont, US is holding talks with Hindustan Organic Chemicals to pick up stake in HFL, which is approved in principle by the government. The company has plans to increase capacities and diversify in areas of value addition and upgrade existing technology. It has entered a joint venture with IICT for developing HEPTAFLUOROPROPANEA fire extinguish for DIFR.
