About Goa Carbon Ltd

Established in 1967, Goa Carbon is a leading producer and manufacturer of Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) with three plants in India. With an initial investment of Rs. 72 crores, the Company started its production of CPC in July 1995. By acquiring 83.47 equity share capital of its subsidiary, Paradeep Carbons Limited (expanded annual production capacity of 125000 MT), they met the demand for CPC. In 2000, they acquired 100 equity shares of Vishwalakshmi Petro Products Ltd.– making it a wholly owned subsidiary of Goa Carbon Ltd. In 2004-05, Goa Carbon acquired additional 2480000 equity shares of subsidiary P.C.L making the holding 100%. In 2006, P.C.L was merged by the Bombay High Court and the shares of Goa Carbon were listed on NSE in 2007. Moreover, in 2010-11, Goa Carbon incorporated its wholly owned subsidiary GCL Global Resources Singapore and entered in a joint venture agreement with Sinoway International Holdings, HK to set up a wholly owned subsidiary in the Peoples Republic of China for manufacturing 280000MT of CPC.
