Garware Technical Fibres Limited (GTFL) is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles providing innovative solutions in fields such as fisheries aquaculture shipping sports agriculture coated fabrics and geosynthetics. Incorporated in 1976 in Mumbai, GTFL have production facilities in Wai and Pune, India and markets their products to over 75 countries globally. In 1987, Wall Ind. divested their shareholding which was taken up by the promoters. In 1995, the company held a rights issue and entered into a technical collaboration with Toyo Kogyo Japan. A joint venture with a Danish company was finalized to set up a 100 EOU to manufacture braided wires. GTFL secured the Top Exporter Award in both Fishnets/Fishing Line and Ropes categories in 1998-99 and in 2002 Garware ElastomericsLimited was disinvested. With the aim to reach out to end-users, GTFL opened a branch office in USA in 2001 and the company further diversified by setting up heat-resistant rubber tension tapes and threads for garment industry in 2006. In 2020, GTFL incorporated subsidiaries Garware Technical Fibres USA INC, Garware Technical Fibres Chile SpA, Garware Technical Textile Private Limited and Garware Technical Fibres Foundation. With these efforts the company has gained a strong foothold in North American and European markets, while expanding their presence in South Asia, the Far East, South America and Australia.
