About Energy Development Company Ltd

Energy Development Company Limited was set up as a public limited company on 19th January 1995 in order to execute the Harangi Mini Hydro Electric Power project on BOT Build Operate Transfer basis for a period of 40 years. In 1999, the Power Purchase Agreement was signed between the company and the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (formerly KEB) for the sale of entire energy generated valid for 20 years. Finally, the project was commissioned and synchronised with the grid on 14th July 1999. The Harangi Hydro Electric Power Project, set up by Energy Development Company Limited, provides clean energy to the region with its long-term Power Purchase Agreement of 20 years.
