About Diana Tea Company Ltd

Diana Tea Company Limited (DTCL) was established in Aug. 11, 1976, by the Singhania family, with a mission to operate a tea business. The company acquired Baintgoorie Tea Estate from Duncans in 1983 and just two years later, it issued an Rs 8.94 crore public issue with a premium of Rs 55. This was used to increase the tea production levels to 32.25 lakh kilograms as well as to enhance the quality. During 19992000, the company established a new factory at Ambari Tea Estate. Unfortunately, the company also faced severe drought conditions in the Dooars region, along with other adverse factors which made it lose nearly 25% of its crop. Lalit Kumar Singhania is currently the Managing Director of DTCL, as well as other group companies including Amarajyoti Investment and Singhania Builders.
