About Amalgamated Electricity Company Ltd

The Amalgamated Electricity Company Limited was established in 1936 and provides management and consultancy services. In 2011, the High Court at Mumbai ruled that the Company was liable to pay reduced rent/ compensation of Rs 125/ per sq.ft and interest of 9% from 1st September 2007 to 31st March 2013. The Company took the issue to the Honble Supreme Court which was disposed off on 10th May 2013. As a result, the Company shifted its Registered Office to Dalai Street Fort Mumbai 400 001 in 2014. In the same year, Amalgamated Business Solutions Ltd, a Subsidiary Company, made a preferential issue of 1000 equity shares of Rs 10/ each and as a result, the Company’s holding in ABSL reduced to 49.4%. This led to ABSL no longer being a Subsidiary Company.
