About Rubfila International Ltd

Rubfila International Ltd is a leading manufacturer of latex-resistant rubber threads in India, set up in 1993. With a 29.99% equity stake from Malaysian company Uniphoenix Corporation and a successful public offering to finance the project, the company is now covering a large part of the foundation garment industry, and is exporting their products under the brand name ‘Rubfil’. However, a spike in latex prices has caused the company to face working capital constraints. To solve this, the company is developing their own centrifuging plant to control quality internally and reduce production costs by 8%. In 1998-99, they also installed the machinery for their Silicon Coated Rubber Thread, which has yielded a successful ISO 9002 certification. This has resulted in even more awards, with them receiving the ‘Export Award’ from the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. To further diversify, the company has set up a Wholly Owned Subsidiary in the USA, set to trading in yarns, and has installed two more covering rubber thread machines to aid forward integration. Since 2021, the company has increased their production capacity to 25,000 metric tonnes annually.
