About Restile Ceramics Ltd

Restile Ceramics RCL was established in 1986 as a private limited company in Hyderabad and was transformed into a public limited company in 1988. It produces vitrified glazed and unglazed ceramic floor and wall tiles under the brand names Granamite and Mirrorstone. In order to fund part of a project to create vitrified ceramic tiles in Medak, the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (APIDC) and Mori Italy provided equity participation and technical-cum-financial collaboration respectively, and RCL went public in December 1991. Following the shift to public in 1991, RCL began commercial production of unglazed tiles in September 1991 and high-value mirror-polished tile production in March 1992. It has exported its products to West Asia, Argentina, Australia, Singapore, Far East and South American countries. In 2000, RCL became a BIFR-declared sick firm and in 2001, ICICI was appointed as the Operating Agency to formulate a rehabilitation scheme. To meet the changing market preferences, the company implemented a hydraulic press, horizontal drier, roller kiln to facilitate the production of bigger tile sizes of up to 60cmx60cm, increasing the company's ceramic floor tiles capacity from 12000 MTPA to 1400000 SqM.
