About Reliance Chemotex Industries Ltd

Founded in 1977, Reliance Chemotex Industries (RCIL) based in Maharashtra manufactures blended polyester/viscose yarn in the village of Kanpur, Udaipur Rajasthan. In 1982, the company expanded its yarn manufacturing capacity to 16320 spindles. To help fund a further expansion it issued sixteen Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) for Rs. 300 lacs to IDBI, (Industrial Development Bank of India), plus 24,850 Cumulative Preference Shares of Rs. 100 to its promoters, bringing the company’s spindle capacity to 17280. In order to modernize its installations, the company was also granted a Term loan of Rs. 122.50 lacs from Rajasthan Industrial Investment Corporation Limited (RIICO), helping RCIL begin commercial production of its yarn in March 1996.
