About Cheviot Company Ltd

Cheviot Company Ltd is an India-based company established in 1897. With its two business segments - Jute Goods and Captive Power Generation, it manufactures and exports a variety of jute fabrics and yarns both domestically and internationally. Along with the launch of its Export Oriented Unit (EOU) at BudgeBudge in 1997, the company was given Export House status in 1995. By 2009, the company had increased its jute goods production capacity from 1570 MT to 64280 MT. Furthermore, in 2008, the company became a subsidiary of Harsh Investments Pvt Ltd, one of the promoter companies, after amalgamation of another promoter company with Harsh Investments Pvt Ltd. Thereafter, the company decided to set up a project in the Falta Special Economic Zone for jute yarn manufacturing. However, this was dropped due to a changed overseas market scenario in Jute Yarn.
