About Prakash Industries Ltd

Prakash Industries PIL was incorporated in 1980 and since then has ventured into PVC pipes, BW TV picture tubes, video tapes and cassettes manufacturing. It has set up a sponge iron plan in Champa Madhya Pradesh with an installed capacity of 1.5 lac tpa and has technical collaboration with Lurgi, Germany. With further expansion and diversification projects PIL increased their capacity from 1.5 lac tpa to 3.30 lac tpa. It also set up a stainless steel project in Gujarat and a worsted woollen yarn EOU in Silvassa and increased their iron ore mining and crushing capacity. PIL was awarded the Elcina certificate of merit for export performance in 199293 and is currently undertaking a 10MW windfarm project in Tamil Nadu. The company was referred to BIFR for a rehabilitation package and IFCI have conducted a study and submitted a proposal, however the approval is still pending.
