About Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd

Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited (KFIL) was incorporated in 1991, and is a subsidiary of Kirloskar Industries Limited. It is a market leader in India for manufacturing grey iron castings and quality pig iron, the only company in Asia with an integrated business model of mines to machined castings. KFIL's 3 commercial production of Pig Iron from Mini Blast Furnace I and 3.5 MW Power Plant 1 using Blast Furnace Gas were started in 1994 and Initial Public Offer issued in the same year. ISO 9002 certification was obtained in 2001, ands ISO 14000 certification and TS 6949:2002 were received in 2002 and 2005 respectively. KFIL had entered into a long term contract for pig iron with an institutional buyer in 1999-2000. The company had underwent financial restructuring with IDBI and other institutions in 2000, and since then has acquired a Solapur foundry from Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd, 3.5 MW Turbo Generator II, Mini Blast Furnace II and TG I, bought MBF II and TG I & II and in 2018-19 installed fettling facilities for superior casting finish. The 20MW Power Plant working on waste gas generated from Coke Oven plant was commissioned in 2020, and various projects were undertaken to improve the capacity expansion. KFIL also acquired a pig iron plant from VSL Steels in 2020 with a capacity of 150,000 metric tons, and acquired 51% stake in Indian Seamless Metal Tube ISMT Ltd. in 2021-22.
